Eat and Run

For anyone who's passing up cheeseburgers to nibble on celery in an effort to maintain their health, Harvard Medical School offers a bit of good news. Being overweight and fit will keep you alive longer, and keep your heart healthier, than being thin and inactive. While extra weight, especially in a pot belly, disturbs your blood sugar, physical activity helps to keep insulin and blood sugar at healthy levels. That means that the benefits of exercise work to undo the extra pounds due to a cheeseburger or three.

The news doesn't mean you should start ordering extra fries, of course. It just means you should stress about those love handles a little less, and get on the treadmill a little more.
