Faced with a steadily growing inventory of used trucks, Freightliner Corp.'s SelecTrucks used truck network has created a "Route to Success" program for owner/operators. It includes financing packages for used trucks with $999 down payments; a broad vehicle protection plan; and new and remanufactured components. There is also a business support element that includes a study course called "Destination-Success," designed for both first-time o/os and more experienced independent contractors. The course consists of a videotape, audio cassette, maintenance manual and business tips manual. If you successfully take the certification test in the manual, you will become a "Freightliner-Certified Owner/Operator" and get a certificate and a Freightliner letterman jacket.
