Styling! '99 Truck Show Season Ends With Lots of Flash in Florida
By Bill Hudgins
If you're going to spend four or five days washing, waxing, polishing and buffing a big rig, you could do a lot worse than North Central Florida in the late fall.
Many of the 65 truck owners and drivers who came to the 75 Chrome Shop at the Wildwood exit had already competed in as many as a dozen shows, from chill Louisville to roasting Reno and torrid Topeka. At Wildwood, they basked in mild temperatures under clear skies, bothered only by heavy dews that had to be wiped away each morning.
The show, sanctioned by the National Association of Show Trucks, drew local truck owners, as well as several from Canada who took home a number of trophies and a few sacks of sunshine to get them through the long winter.
