Altwine's at Home in Cheyenne
Wendy Altwine has been store manager at the Cheyenne, Wyo., TA for just under two years. But she felt at home the day she arrived. Originally from the Overton, Neb., area, she started working at the former Burns Bros. there in 1987. She's moved several times to work at other locations. "I have customers now who knew me in Overton," she says.
Altwine has worked in most areas of truckstop operations. When TA acquired Burns Bros. last year, she added the new responsibility of Road King Crew Member. She makes sure the racks are kept full and tracks how many copies of each issue of Road King drivers pick up. They like finding Road King in Cheyenne, she says, and also finding a familiar face to greet them.
