Wallace Keeps Vero Beach TA Shipshape

In 1993, Wally Wallace traded the chilly Atlantic off New York for the milder waters of Florida's Vero Beach. He had to find a new job and joined the Courtesy House truckstop as a maintenance assistant. A year later, his boss retired and Wally stepped up.

Now officially called the Vero Beach Travel Center, the TA serves the bustling Indian River citrus industry as well as tourists on I-95. So, with the battle against salty ocean breezes and hurricane scares, Wally and his crew of nine stay on the go.

Still, he finds time to keep the Road King racks filled. "The haulers really go through them during the citrus season," he says.
