Roadking has won a Folio Magazine Award for Editorial Excellence as well as 10 awards in the 2000 International Automotive Media Awards, including a gold for news writing.
The Folio award was in the Transportation and Logistics category of the Editorial Excellence contest. Said one judge, "The magazine delivers in full on the golden strategy of business/professional magazines: it both entertains and informs, and it does so seamlessly and powerfully."
The IAMA gold award was for "Truck Tech 2000" by Tom Berg, Paul Abelson and Bill Hudgins in the Nov./Dec. 1999 issue. The magazine and its contributors also picked up five silver awards and four bronze awards. Road King was the only trucking magazine to win awards in the competition, which included top automotive specialty magazines such as Car & Driver and AutoWeek. Other IAMA Awards were as follows:
