KIRKLAND, WA -- When you spend 45 to 48 weeks a year
traveling lonely Canadian highways, the comforts of home are usually
thousands of miles away. And according to one long-time owner operator, a
trucker can gain a real appreciation for the "simple luxuries of home."
That's why David Schewalje took delivery of Canada's first production
Kenworth T800B spec'd with an 86-inch Studio AeroCab.
"This is sure a lot different than my first truck -- a 1968 Kenworth
W900,"
laughed Schewalje, whose 30-year driving career has put 2.5 million miles
in
his rear-view mirrors. "I've always been a Kenworth fan, but this latest
rig is the kind of truck I'd like to retire with. It feels more like an
RV
than a truck."
Schewalje, who calls Cache Creek, B.C. home, says his T800 Studio AeroCab
is
also a hit with his fiancé and eight-year driving partner, Diana McLellan.
