Road king's senior technical editor, Paul Abelson, has been elected to the board of directors of the Technology and Maintenance Council (formerly known as The Maintenance Council). Abelson also holds TMC's Silver Spark Plug award, recognizing his many contributions to the industry over more than 20 years as a shipper/receiver, industry supplier and trucking journalist. Abelson is also active in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and has served on the boards of Trucker Buddy and the National Association of Show Trucks.

Mary Hance, who writes our "Fleet Focus" section, is also a reporter for The (Nashville) Tennessean. Her column, "Ms. Cheap," offers penny-pinching tips she has now gathered in Ms. Cheap's Guide to Getting More for Less (Rutledge Hill Press).
