Thermo King's SB-III CR temperature control system promises triple-whammy environmental benefits. It uses carbon dioxide instead of ozone-eating gases; has 98% fewer moving parts than conventional systems for less noise; and uses propane instead of diesel fuel. The SB-III CR is being introduced first in Europe where environmental and noise regulations are typically tougher than in the U.S. Look for it here later this year.

Thermo King has also introduced the SB-190, the third in its new line of trailer reefer units. The SB-190 will replace the SB-III SR+ and Whisper Quiet models. The SB-190 has fewer standard features than the similar capacity SB-200, but does include the MP-VI Smart Reefer controller, 12,000-hour long-life coolant and three-year warranty. Thermo King also has introduced two extended maintenance interval service packages for trailer and truck mounted units.
