More than 100 contestants from 26 states and three Canadian provinces participated in the 20th anniversary Rotella SuperRigs Truck Beauty Contest, June 6-8 at the East Ontario TA.
They competed for over $20,000 in cash and prizes, plus an opportunity to appear in the 2003 Rotella SuperRigs calendar. The 2003 calendars will be available in November 2002 through Shell distributors, and for sale on the Internet at www.rotella.com and www.etrucker.com.
Best of show went to David and Allyson Geer of Oklahoma City for their tropically themed, 1998 Peterbilt 379 called "Marooned." (Pictured right.) Second place went to a Sept. 11 tribute, "Enduring Freedom," owned by Donnie and Diana Harper of Somerset, Ky.
Only working trucks operating in inter- or intrastate commerce were eligible. Winners were as follows:
