For 24 years, Carl E. Smith has been helping truckers get back on the road and back to work quickly.

"Drivers are in a hurry and can't check everything, so we take our responsibility seriously," says Smith, a Truck Service Advisor at the Brookville TA, at I-80 and Route 36. "I always try to be very fair, telling them the truth right up front."

Smith also works with fleets to get authorization for work. His reputation makes it possible to get fast approval, rather than keeping a driver parked waiting for an OK from the main office.

Outside of work, Smith is most proud of achieving the rank of Master Mason in the Freemason organization. For truckers passing through western Pennsylvania, Smith and the other workers at the Brookville TA are a welcome site.
