Apparently, it's cool to be old school.

The newest accessory to hit the streets is a fashion statement truck drivers have been making for years. A staple in truck driving apparel, the trucker hat has street goers and fashionistas alike flocking to the stores.

Trendsetters in the entertainment industry have helped boost the hat's popularity, with pop-music idols such as former 'N Sync popster Justin Timberlake, actor Ashton Kutcher and male and female models alike sporting their personalized caps on the style pages of magazines, on TV and in music videos.

Sports apparel companies are catching on to trucker trends too (see below). But what's the cost of trucker chic? Although the original trucker hat can be found at truck stops for under $10, posh boutiques and sports stores sell more stylish versions of the foam hat for $25 to $45. Reebok expects to sell around 300,000 of its new trucker caps, to be worn by NFL players (and their fans) while sitting on the sidelines.
