Off-Road Driving
by Sara Kuklenski

Can't get enough of your big rig while you're on the road? Then grab a video game that puts you right back in the driver's seat, but not back on the highway.

The new Playstation2, "18-Wheeler: American Pro Trucker" game attempts to emulate the real trucking experience, although its frequent intense collisions and screen-filling explosions may have some true-blue truckers cringing.

The game somewhat simulates the life of a trucker, letting you choose your 20-ton truckload and dodge traffic accidents to beat the time clock. And you'll relate to the fact that the more damages you receive en route, the less your load is worth.

But you'll probably realize that reality on the video game road ends there, as you make the trek from New York to San Francisco in less than an hour. Realistic or not, this trucking adventure is at least worth the comparison. Find it at www.toysrus.com or www.amazon.com.
