TA Runs in the Family
Son of Santa Nella shop manager wins scholarship

Nathan Longoria, son of Ernie and Maria Longoria, has won a $2,500 scholarship through the National Association of Truck Stop Operators. Ernie is shop manager and Maria is assistant manager of the store at the Santa Nella, Calif., TA.

"We call Nathan and our two daughters our 'TA Babies' because Maria and I met while working for TA in 1984," Ernie says. "We are so proud of our son and his accomplishments."

Nathan carried a 4.2 GPA and was fourth in his class of 98 at Gustine High School in Gustine, Calif. He is attending California State University in Fresno, majoring in business administration.

Nathan won the Bill Moon Scholarship along with four other students. Applicants are judged by an independent review committee based upon academic merit, extracurricular and community activities and a short essay. Applications for the 2004 Bill Moon Scholarships will be available in January. Call (703) 549-2100 or go to www.natsofoundation.org for details on the program.
