Kenworth Truck Company recently announced that it will offer the Cummins ISL engine in its short hood T800 and W900S models for vocational and pick-up and delivery applications. The 8.9-liter engine will be available in ratings of 310 to 359 hp and 1,050 to 1,250 pound-feet. It's up to 37 percent quieter than the previous ISL engine, due to pilot fuel injection and a revised gear cover.
