TA's first Canadian location, the Woodstock 230 Travel Center, has won the third annual Service Cup contest, which recognizes the TA restaurant staff that provides the best customer service. "We were determined to bring the cup to Canada," says Brenda Powell, general manager of the Woodstock, Ontario TA at Provincial Highway 401, Exit 230. "We have an absolutely wonderful bunch of servers and lots of regular customers that helped by voting for us."
Restaurant guests voted for the staff they thought provided the best service. Guests could vote online at www.tacares.com, or through TA's toll-free customer service line, (888) 982-5528. Besides having the most votes, the winning location had to achieve a score of 87 or higher on "Tell Us About Us," TA's online and phone-based guest satisfaction survey program. Survey questions covered appearance, hospitality, attitude of the staff, cleanliness and food quality. Woodstock received 1,200 votes and a survey score of 92.4%. Runners-up included the Monroe, Mich., with 440 votes, and Amarillo East in Texas, with 399 votes.
In addition to other prizes, Woodstock will get possession of the three-foot tall Service Cup trophy, right.
