Truckers with laptop computers can keep in touch with family, run their business and access their favorite Web sites from the comfort of their cab, thanks to the new high-speed wireless Internet access at TravelCenters of America.
TA is rolling out the new service, called TA SpeedZone, at locations nationwide. You'll be able to access it within the TA restaurant, drivers' lounge and store, as well as out in the parking lots of TAs.
TA is scheduling 125 locations to be active TA SpeedZones by the end of June. You can find the most up-to-date information on which locations have the TA SpeedZone service by visiting www.tatravelcenters.com.
How it Works
All you have to do to access TA SpeedZone is insert a wireless card into the PCMCIA slot of your laptop. That card will pick up a signal from TA's WiFi antennas, and when you launch your Internet browser, it takes you immediately to the TA SpeedZone login page.
From there, you can purchase access time either with a credit card or by using the PIN number on a a prepaid card available for purchase from TA's travel stores.

- $169.49 for 365 days (usually $199.95)
