The TravelCenter of America in Denton, Texas, has revamped its look and service offerings in a move sure to find favor with truckers.
There's the outside facelift for the facility and the addition of two fast food offerings in addition to the full-service Country Pride Restaurant. But perhaps the most obvious and welcome change for truckers is the reconfiguration of the parking area.
"We're adding a separate driveway for cars, so the trucks will have their own entrance," says Jim Mullins, General Manager of the TA about 40 miles north of Dallas. "That will make a big difference, especially when it gets busy out there."
Besides finding it easier to get in and out of the Denton TA, truck drivers will also find more selection when it comes to refueling themselves. Joining the Country Pride full-service restaurant are two new fast-food offerings, a Taco Bell Express and a Pizza Hut Express.
Truckers will also find a fully stocked travel store, to get convenience foods, maps and items to make it easier to continue on their route. There's also a laundry room and drivers' lounge.
As for truck maintenance, the Denton TA offers two service bays dedicated to trucks, as well as the Freightliner ServicePointSM program, which provides authorized express service and light-duty repair on all Freightliner trucks. There's also emergency road service and Cat weigh scales.
For truck refueling, the Denton TA offers diesel satellite pumps and Pronto! PayŽ at the pumps.
"We see lots of traffic from the metroplex, which is Dallas and Fort Worth," Mullins says.
Denton is also home to the University of North Texas and the popular Denton Dragway, which brings in regulars and visitors every weekend.
