Barkeyville, Pa., may be half a world away from Iraq, but visitors to the TravelCenters of America there have a daily reminder of the men and women serving in the U.S. military. Recently added to a wall in the TA's Country Pride restaurant that is set aside to honor local soldiers was a flag that flew over Camp Bucca in Iraq, where 1st Sgt. Tom Forrest of the Oil City National Guard Unit has been stationed. His wife of 27 years, Amy, is a restaurant waitress, and when Tom returned on leave, he presented the Barkeyville TA with the flag. "Amy's been on an emotional roller coaster with her husband in Iraq, and we've done our best to take care of her," says Harry Fairlamb, general manager of the TA. "Tom was so appreciative, he honored us with this display flag." Tom has now headed back to Iraq, where he's stationed until February.
