Best of Brooks & Dunn

Country duo releases second 'best-of' compilation

It's been a busy fall for country group Brooks & Dunn.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have been on the road touring in support of their latest album, last year's "Red Dirt Road," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. They just came out with their second "best-of" compilation, "The Greatest Hits Collection II," for which they recorded three new songs. They're hosting the Country Music Association Awards show on Nov. 9, and have been nominated for an American Music Award, which will be presented on ABC Nov. 14.

The multi-platinum selling twosome have 24 No. 1 singles to their credit, and this latest greatest hits album is a retrospective of their last seven-years worth of chart-toppers. It includes the hits "Ain't Nothin' Bout You," "That's What She Gets For Loving Me," and "If You See Him/If You See Her (with Reba McEntire)."

Among the three new tracks on the album is one called "Independent Trucker," an ode to the owner-operator lifestyle that's sure to become popular with those on the road.

The greatest hits compilation also includes several songs from their "Red Dirt Road" album, where their traditional honky-tonk blues was tempered with blues- and gospel-influenced songs.

And as if they won't have enough visibility hosting the CMA Awards from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville this month, Brooks & Dunn are also up for three nominations as well: Entertainer of the Year, Best Album for "Red Dirt Road," and Vocal Duo.
