Even regular visitors to the Atlanta South 75 TA are bound to see something new when they visit. Bob Ryan regularly works to remodel, renovate and improve the location, which he has operated in Jackson, Georgia for 21 years.
"We're always working to better serve the customer," says Ryan.
In the last two decades, the site has undergone 14 major renovations. Most recently, the game room was expanded and television room moved, to accommodate a big-screen television and theater-type seating.
The Atlanta South 75 TA is a family-run operation. Ryan's son Kevin has been working with him for 19 years, while Kerry Ryan has been there for nine years. Ryan's wife, Susan, helps in Atlanta South's offices and with Ryan's Classic Catering, the catering service Ryan started several years ago.
The site offers a laundry room, permit services and Cat weigh scales, a 24-hour mini chapel, and emergency road service, express lane service and Freightliner ServicePointSM.
Step into the full-service restaurant and you'll step back in time to the Wild West. The menus are filled with stories of Western heroes, including Calamity Jane and Davy Crockett. Besides the popular buffet and salad bar, the restaurant also has a popular seafood buffet on Friday nights and barbecue on Saturdays.
More than just a stop for truckers, the Atlanta South 75 TA has a high profile in the Jackson community. Each year, it sponsors a charity golf tournament, which has raised more than $26,000 last year for the youth recreation program in Jackson. The TA is also involved in the cancer fundraiser Relay for Life, as well as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the local high school.
"We try to give back and serve our customers the best we can," Ryan says.
