Hot wings contest takes off at Lodi TA
Some heavy eating took place at the Lodi, Ohio TravelCenters of America in October for the Frank's¨ RedHot¨ Sauce Battle to the Bone. Contestants were given eight minutes to eat as much as they could from a tray of hot wings.
Winner of $200 and a trophy was David O'Karma of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, who ate 2.82 pounds of wings. Second place went to Gary Hennie of Lodi, who polished off 2.48 pounds of meat.
The outdoor event drew a crowd to the Lodi TA, with cheering sections, a radio DJ and on-site music.
