Drivers stopping at the Saginaw TravelCenters of America are in for a fresh new look, thanks to a renovation of the exterior of the building.
"We've added the TA arch, and updated the front on the restaurant," says Larry Long, general manager of the TA at Exit 144 off I-75.
Long has seen many changes at the Saginaw TA, where he started pumping gas 21 years ago.
"There's always a new challenge everyday and I enjoy all the regular customers over the years," he says.
The central Michigan location makes it a handy stop for hunters heading north to the Michigan forests. The TA is just 8 miles from Frankenmuth, Mich., known as "Michigan's Little Bavaria."
Each year, Frankenmuth attracts over 3 million visitors to its Bavarian-themed restaurants and shops. The town was first settled by a group of Lutherans from Bavaria in 1847. The name comes from Franconia, a region of Bavaria, and "muth," the German word for courage.
At the Saginaw TA, drivers will find a fully-stocked travel store, as well as a laundry room, driver's lounge and game room. The Apple Creek Family Restaurant offers full-service dining, as well as a breakfast buffet on weekends.
If your rig needs work, the Saginaw TA has two truck service bays, and offers Freightliner ServicePointSM as well as emergency road service, which can come out to help you if you're stranded on the road.
