He may be only 11, but Wyatt Martinson has a passion for Kenworths from the 1950s.
Martinson, who lives in Pompeys Pillar, Mont., is the youngest member of the Big Sky chapter of the American Truck Historical Society. He inherited his love for big rigs from his dad and grandfather, who both drove trucks.
"I started driving when I was seven," says Wyatt, who first got behind the wheel of a big rig two years ago. He drives on the gravel road near his home, which has given him just a taste of the power in the big trucks. "The highest gear I've been in is sixth."
There are seven big rigs parked at Martinson's house, including a 1958 Kenworth and a 1950 Kenworth, which belong to Wyatt. He and his father, Ben, spend their time restoring the old trucks.
Ben is encouraging his son to enter the trucking profession, although he insists he attend college first.
"It's a passion," says Ben. "I eat, sleep and dream trucks."
