On a Roll
There’s a lot happening at TA and Petro lately, all of it part of our effort to offer full service to drivers so that your visit to us is both pleasant and productive.
Double Take Menu
Satisfy your hunger with good food that deserves seconds. With our new double-take menu you can get one free re-order of almost anything on the menu at participating locations. Ask your server for details.
One call to 1-800-824-SHOP (7467) gives you access to thousands of qualified breakdown recovery services across the country. That means drivers will get a quick response no matter where they are, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year.
New StayFit Fitness Room
Petro Joplin in Missouri, (I-44 & Hwy 43, Exit 4) is the 39th location in the TA and Petro network to add a fitness room. A selection of cardio equipment, gym mats, weight scale and more helps drivers keep fit on the road.
More locations with DEF at the pump
TA and Petro continue to install bulk DEF at key locations. At presstime there were 75 locations offering DEF at the pump.
Continued Support for SCF
TA and Petro presented a BP Fueling Communities grant donation of $30,000 to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund (SCF), which offers financial assistance to drivers dealing with medical issues. TA and Petro employees and customers have been steady supporters of the organization, raising funds through the annual Band Together for SCF campaign. During the Mid-America Trucking Show in March, the TA and Petro booth devoted space to SCF and collected more than $2,000 from attendees. TA and Petro employees gave another $2,700 to SCF through various events.
“Through TravelCenters’ nominations, BP has donated a total of $60,000 over two years to SCF, says Tom O’Brien, President and CEO. “These dollars are used to help truck drivers without health insurance who are suffering financial hardship. BP’s help allows us to provide even greater support to our customer base.”
Band Together for SCF 2012
Look for Band Together for SCF 2012 in August. Donate $1 at TA and Petro locations and you’ll get a green (Petro) or blue (TA) wristband so you can show your support to fellow drivers.

What Do You Call It?
Name The Burger! winner to be announced
You ate it. You named it. Hundreds of mouth-watering entries arrived for the TA and Petro Name The Burger! Contest. Watch for the winning names, and in the meantime, sink your teeth into one of these mighty tasty half-pound burgers. Each one has lettuce, tomato and pickle, and comes on a sesame seed bun. The TA as-yet-unnamed burger has teriyaki sauce, wasabi mayo and swiss cheese. Petro’s has breaded and fried jalapenos, chipotle mayo and pepperjack cheese. Yum!
T is for Truckers!
Day to day, TA and Petro employees do all they can for the drivers who visit their locations. And throughout the summer months, our locations often celebrate Customer Appreciation Days. This year’s events began in May. Drivers at many locations received either a TA or Petro T-shirt, as well as apples, water and lots of other goodies. Employees also washed windshields and did what they always strive to do … provide a smiling face and a helping hand. Keep your eye out for a Customer Appreciation Day at a site near you!
Thank You Military Veterans
So many truckers are military veterans, and many have sons or daughters in the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marine Corps. This Independence Day, we salute all who have served. If you didn’t get your “Land of the Free, because of the Brave” TA or Petro window cling for your truck on Memorial Day, be sure to pick one up in any of our locations on July 4th and Veterans Day.
See You in Dallas
If you’ll be attending the Great American Trucking Show (GATS), Aug. 23-25, at the Dallas Convention Center, be sure to visit us at the TA/Petro booth — #22089.
